Gamora, portrayed by Zoe Saldana in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a complex and skilled warrior.
She was first introduced in the MCU in the film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Originally, Gamora was the adopted daughter of Thanos, the Mad Titan, who systematically eliminated half of her Zen-Whoberis species. Thanos raised Gamora to be a highly effective assassin, training her alongside Nebula, with whom she has a fraught, competitive relationship.
Gamora eventually defected from Thanos's service, seeking redemption for her past actions.
